More recently, The United
Nations' Food and Agricultural Organization has come out with a booklet about
worms that can become food. This is especially important as the demand for food
is forecasted to grow by 60% by 2050.
Apparently, a study into this
area showed that bugs have already been tapped as a potential source of food in
rural areas. People did make a meal healthy meal out of worms like crickets and
grasshoppers. Little wonder that in Thailand, cricket farming alone is a $30
million industry.
Indeed, opening a can of worms
can now be a positive move!
