 Swine Flu Kills 11-year-old Boy in Norway
A media report has said that H1N1 virus, better known as swine flu, has killed a Norwegian boy from Telemark county.
Citing Norwegian-language newspaper Aftenposten, Xinhua said the 11-year-old boy was seriously ill for two weeks before being transferred from a hospital in Porsgrunn to the Riks Hospital in Oslo.

A doctor confirmed that the boy died of influenza A caused by the H1N1 virus.

The boy's family members were being monitored by medical workers.

Several schoolmates of the boy were also ill but their condition was not life threatening.

The Department of Public Health said that about 10 percent of the population get flu throughout the winter season. About 900 people, mostly the elderly, die of flu in Norway annually.
