Around 47 percent of the women drug addicts in Pakistan are college graduates, and 21 per cent have had primary or matriculation education

The findings were presented by the ministry's Planning and Monitoring Unit Director-General Mohammad Shahid at an awareness workshop on substance abuse amongst Pakistani women
He said the training program aimed at empowering women to overcome drug addiction.
He said 43 percent addicts get drugs from friends and 15.6 percent from neighbours.
Majority of Pakistani women use drugs for pleasure followed by stress-related emotional, physical pain and domestic violence.
Some of the women covered under the survey were forced into the habit by husbands.

He said the ministry plans to conduct another survey to ascertain the number of Pakistani female drug addicts.
