A Bench consisting of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justice P. Sathasivam has approved plans by the CBSE to conduct objective type of exams for both preliminary and final examinations in the all India quota for admissions to medical/dental courses in 2009.
Under the current system, preliminary exams are of the objective type, while the final ones are non-objective. In its application to the apex court, CBSE had said that conducting non-objective type of exams was time consuming,
