Study Conducted on Brains of Elderly to Understand Problems With Gait
A recent study of the brains of older people after death sought to understand the reason behind problems of movement and gait experienced by them during their living years.
Looking for possible damage in any part of the brain tissue, which may have caused problems with movement, researchers found a connection between parts of brain tissue death and the extent of movement problems experienced by patients. They also felt that small blood clots in the brain may have led to difficulties in movement.

Since this study was conducted on the brain of elderly after death, researchers are not so sure if brain changes occurred before the problems with walking began. We need more studies to be conducted using brain imaging during the person’s life and after death to help understand the link.
