Stress, a Huge Cause of Absenteeism
We need to scratch the surface to look for the underlying reasons of absenteeism, low morale and productivity among the workforce.

Stress turns out to be the primary reason behind absenteeism at the workplace.
Statistics show that nearly half of all the people who suffer from depression or other mental health problems stay away from work for five or more days consecutively.

Nearly 20% of the employees experience mild depression and such workers take twice the amount of sick leave.

The present work culture of expecting employees to deliver at any cost, laying great emphasis on the amount of work rather than the quality of work, is the overriding reason for increasing levels of stress.

It is imperative that managers and bosses be trained to spot any signs of mental health issues in employees to ensure remedial measures are taken on time.
