A new study in the latest issue of the New England Journal of Medicine says that stem cells may not help heart attack survivors. However more research is needed to ascertain these findings.
Three studies looked at the effect of stem cells given to survivors of heart attacks and found that these cells were ineffective in repairing damaged hearts. Researchers looked at whether stem cells could repair the main pumping chamber of the heart, but did not find evidence that it did so.Source-Medindia
