Spice Up Your Sex Life: Malay State's Mantra to Halt Divorce Epidemic!

by Thilaka Ravi on Nov 3 2009 7:23 PM

The state government of Terengganu has come up with innovative plans to spice up sexual relations between newly weds after body odour, monotonous sex and dull pyjamas were blamed for high divorce rates.

According to Muhammad Ramli Nuh, the deputy chairman of the State Religious and Information Committee, couples wanting to separate had often cited reasons like humdrum sex and body odour for a divorce.

"I know of one case where a separation was triggered just because the spouse smelled of fish crackers," the Star Online quoted Muhammad Ramli, as saying.

He said the state government has called upon cosmetic firms to bring out new scents for couples so that they could "sustain their relationships, hopefully for eternity."

He also advised couples to bathe together.

He said: "I met this elderly couple in Kelantan, they bathe together although they are grandparents; they enjoy a blissful marriage, this is when I mooted the idea where this method could be introduced as part of the pre-marital courses conducted in the state."

Muhammad Ramli also said the state government was planning to arrange a workshop that would teach methods to pep up attraction between spouses.

He said: "This workshop is not only meant for the wives but also to provide men with tips on how to be attractive to their spouse at all times."

Muhammad Ramli added that the state government had hired counsellors to mediate between couples who were on the verge of a split.
