Skipping Breakfast can Actually Make You Fatter
Skipping breakfast may seem a logical way of ensuring lower calorie intake but a new study published in Nutrition Journal reveals that such a practice may instead increase the likelihood that you overeat and eventually gain weight.

The study was conducted by researchers at University of Missouri who observed a group of women under 19 years of age and found that eating breakfast led to increased levels of dopamine in the brain, which is linked with feelings of reward and thereby reducing food cravings and overeating later in the day.

"Our research showed that people experience a dramatic decline in cravings for sweet foods when they eat breakfast. However, breakfasts that are high in protein also reduced cravings for savory - or high-fat - foods. On the other hand, if breakfast is skipped, these cravings continue to rise throughout the day", lead researcher Heather Leidy said.
