A single vaccine could be enough to ward off the threat of a number of allergic diseases including hay fever, asthma and eczema and the vaccine could be available in the market by the end of 2015.
A group of researchers from Zurich's Cytos Biotechnology, have developed a new vaccine, known as CYT003-Qbg10, which helps prevent a number of allergic diseases. The researchers claim that the vaccine is almost as good as steroids in keeping asthma under control.

An allergy is a hypersensitive disorder of immune system. Substances that often cause allergic reactions are pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, food, insect stings and medicines.

Human tests have been conducted and were successful and the researchers said that the vaccine should be available in the next four to five years.
The director of Research at Asthma UK, Leanne Metcalf said that the vaccine could be a boon for all those who are suffering from multiple allergies. "Over three quarters of people with asthma also have an allergy, which can often trigger their asthma symptoms. We are, therefore, excited about the potential of this vaccine to make a real difference to people with asthma and allergies, especially as it has been shown in clinical trials to have relatively few side effects", Metcalf added.
