Sex and Love Course Made Mandatory for Chinese College Students
The China Government has made sex and love course compulsory for university students from this month onwards.
China's Education Ministry had ordered the country's universities to develop a compulsory mental health course for all standards of college students in June, a senior official, who requested anonymity, told the China Daily.

"The reason why the ministry decided to make the courses compulsory was that most university students are advised to seek help or seek psychological guidance because of the heavy pressure on them," he said.e further said that the new course consists of seven parts, which covers psychological issues such as how to deal with pressure and frustrations in life and studying, besides sex and love topics. Some students are opposed to the move of making the course compulsory.

A Peking University student, Wang Kefei, who studied a psychological course in her first year, described it as boring.

Another student, He Fang, echoed a similar sentiment.

East China Normal University's School of Psychology and Cognitive Science Associate Dean Sang Biao said the course should have been introduced for middle or high school students.

"Such a course is necessary, but choosing the right ages for it is more important. For most students, the most suitable time to learn sex knowledge is in middle school, because it is in great demand and they have interest to understand the information at that time," he said.
