
An American food scientist claims to have cracked the secret that has made Doritos Nacho Cheese is one of the most popular snack chips around.
According to Steven A Witherly, Doritos makers utilize a perfect ratio of ingredients in manufacturing the chips to provide that irresistible allure to their product.

Exactly 50 percent of the chips' calories come from fat, which also improves the flavor and at the same time give a sensation of the chip melting in your mouth.
The cheesy powder coated on the Doritos is also finely grinded, which makes it settle into every cranny of the chip and then all over the tongue. Frito-Lay, who manufacture Doritos, also make use of real Romano cheese compared to cheaper substitute used by other companies while the use of garlic powder and three different salts provides a 'bold' taste to the chips.
