Schools Have Not Realized the Enormity of Child Obesity
A new study has pointed out that junk food is still available at elementary schools in the US, despite the alarming increase in child obesity statistics.
The study which targeted snacks not sold during mealtimes, found that salty and sweet snack foods were found to be available in nearly 50% of the schools.

Schools situated in the South were the ones that sold chips, cookies or similar foods. Not surprising that obesity statistics are very high in the south.

It is rather worrying as these schools have not heeded the warnings from health advocates. Schools have the onus of restricting the availability of food in schools outside mealtimes and ensuring such items are not fatty snacks laden with salt or sugar.
