The Times of India revealed that it conducted a survey of about a dozen chemist shops and found that herbal aphrodisiacs are in great demand. “A drink or two could make one feel amorous, but another one or two results in lowering of sexual performance,” said Dr AS Mahal told the paper.
Herbal aphrodisiacs come in the form of pills, massage oils and sprays and more and more men are seeking refuse in these dubious "medicines."

Ranjeesh Mehra, a wholesale medicine trader estimated that the market in Amritsar was worth anywhere near Rs 1 crore per month. “People don’t mind spending a fortune for improving their sex life,” Mehra said. “The phenomenon is much more pronounced in metros and has now trickled down to smaller cities."

There is no scientific evidence to back the use of herbal products to boost sex life, but the matter is so delicate that men often take herbal medicines instead of visiting doctors.
