‘Romeo’ Dev, Tiniest Bodybuilder Stands Tall in His Death

by Savitha C Muppala on Sep 14 2012 8:34 PM

Twenty-three year old Aditya ‘Romeo’ Dev is just 2ft 9 inches tall, but that did not stop him from making a mark in the world.
Famous as the world’s tiniest bodybuilder, he found a place in The Guinness Book of World Records in 2006.

Unfortunately, this promising lad died today after suffering a fatal stroke.

Doctors at the Satyam Hospital in Punjab, India, where he was rushed, said that he was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state and all their efforts at reviving him were in vain.

He had suffered massive bleeding which had caused brain damage or aneurism bleeding and his chances of survival were very dim, doctors said.

Earlier in 2008, Dev was diagnosed with two brain aneurisms, one of the common symptoms of dwarfism. At that time he was also been warned that the aneurism could burst and he could suffer a stroke at any time.

“He was absolutely fine until last night when he suddenly fell unconscious. We rushed him to the hospital and he fell into a coma, he was unconscious all night. Doctors said the nerve supplying blood to his brain had ruptured, causing his death. It’s a huge loss for our family, and we will be grieving his death for the rest of our life. We were told by doctors many years ago that he may die at an early age. All these years we prayed for his long life,” his parents lamented.
