Research Gives the ‘go Ahead’ for Gossiping at the Workplace
Gossiping has had its share of brickbats, but now a recent research seems to be lauding the practice, especially in the workplace, as it can be a wake up call for those who shirk work at office.
Most of the time women have been associated with gossip and now it appears that men are also catching up. Gossip is also known to be a stress buster and is even considered quite healthy when done in moderation. Recent study also points to its gaining popularity, with nine out of 10 conversations being just gossip.

Compulsive gossiping is often thought to be a waste of time with absolutely no gains. And what if it is at the workplace? The latest insight on gossip looks at the positives to it as it can function as a warning to under performers to pull up their socks.

"The results of our studies show that gossip may not always be as negative as one might believe at first. Gossip allows people to gather and validate information, to enjoy themselves with others, and to protect their group”, researchers said.
