It will soon be possible to remind people about scheduled immunization appointments for their children and for themselves by way of e-alerts. The UAE Ministry of Health has launched the National Immunization Programme, the details of which are available on its website. A unique login name and password will be provided to Individuals who register with any of the ministry’s facilities. Users can use the website to find out information about further vaccinations. They can also update personal information and history of immunizations.
This service will be connected to health clinics at schools that need immunization records of students for registration purposes.
According to Dr Ibrahim Al Qadi, Director of Central Preventive Medicine at the ministry, users will receive both SMS and email reminders of their schedules and modifications.
“This is a pilot project and we have plans to link it with similar initiatives at health authorities in other emirates as well.” he said.
