Regular Sex Increases Longevity in Men

Regular sex really is a good thing – at least for men.

A new study by researchers at the University of Taiwan has found that regular sex helps men live a long life. Unfortunately for women, this doesn’t apply to the fairer sex.

The study, led by Dr Huang-Kuang Chen, found that men have about 50 percent chance of living past the ripe old age of 80 if they have sex at least once a week.

This happens, the researchers say, because it helps cut the risk of death from a stroke by 50 per cent, diabetes by 40 per cent and heart disease by 30 per cent.

“Our results suggest sexual activity has a protective effect,” The Sun quoted Dr Chen, as saying.

The only thing that has a devastating effect on men, is being widowed at 65, for that raises the risk of dying before the age of 80 by 70 per cent.

For women however, widowhood is not such a bad thing, for they are only 33 per cent more likely to die before 80 if they were widowed.
