Regular Dental Check-Ups may Help Reduce Heart Risk
A group of Taiwanese researchers have claimed that regular visits to your dentist may reduce the risk of heart disease.
The researchers analyzed data from the Taiwan National Health insurance data base which included more than 100,000 people from 2007.

They found that those who regularly visited dentists had a 25 percent lower risk of heart disease and a 13 percent lower risk of suffering from strokes.

Presenting the data at the American Heart Association meeting in Orlando on Sunday, lead researcher Dr Zu-Yin Chen, who is a cardiology fellow at Veterans General Hospital in Taipei, said, “Protection from heart disease and stroke was more pronounced in participants who got tooth scaling at least once a year.”
