
The Indian District Red Cross Society held a function to honor blood donors and organizations that helped organize voluntarily blood donation camps on Sunday.
The camps were held under the aegis of the Red Cross Regional Blood Bank, Ludhiana. Some 35 organizations and 10 individual donors were honored at a small function on Sunday. Dr Sat Pal Sharma, Civil Surgeon, spoke on the occasion and said donating blood could save many lives and asked people to come forward to donate blood.
AK Sharma, Deputy Director, Small Savings-cum-Honorary Secretary, District Red Cross Society, hoped blood donation would become a mass movement. "Our blood collecting team has been going to far off places such Budhlada, Mansa, Sardoolgarh, Bhatinda, Nawanshehar, Mukatsar etc. for collecting the blood," he added.
