Recommendation for Birth Control Pills to be Sold Without a Prescription
The recommendation of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has suggested that women should be able to buy oral contraceptives over the counter without the need for prescriptions.
This move, if implemented, will go a long way in reducing the number of accidental pregnancies in the United States.

Statistics show that nearly 50% of all pregnancies are unplanned, and this hasn’t improved in the last two decades. Women, in their twenties were found to be at utmost risk of unplanned pregnancies.

"Access and cost issues are common reasons why women either do not use contraception use or have gaps in use," according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Canada, most of Europe and many developed countries insist on prescription for purchasing  oral contraceptives.
