The list also includes direction sense, what to watch on television, what to have for dinner, and buying bread-butter, as sources of distress in relationships, Metro.co.uk reported.

Even trivial matters like washing the car, putting the bin out, choice of music and putting the loo seat down can be the trigger for a long drawn argument.

The list reveals that the most common reasons for dispute between couples are in-laws, weekly shopping, family events and boredom.
