Protecting Kids from Swine Flu

The death of an 11-year-old girl in the US on Tuesday from suspected flu-related complications has caused panic among parents

The death of an 11-year-old girl in the US on Tuesday from suspected flu-related complications has caused panic among parents who are now seeking to protect their kids from the virus.

“The emergency departments are all pretty overwhelmed," said Dr. Ellen Crowe, an emergency department physician at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center."Yesterday on my shift about half the patients, I'd say today it's almost two thirds and I think that's more publicity than anything else I think that's partly that little girl."

Doctors say the best way to prevent flu is to avoid crowds and keep keyboards, toys and bathrooms clean.
