These days probiotics are in huge demand as people try to go natural to preserve good health. One of the best probiotic drinks around is the humble yoghurt.

The World Health Organization says that probiotic drinks such as yoghurt offer a myriad of benefits as the live microorganism contained in them actually help the body combat foreign microorganisms.


Gastrointestinal health is the one that is most benefited by probiotics as they promote a healthy gut apart from boosting intestinal functions. All these benefits eventually lead to a healthy immune system.

Fermented dairy products such as yogurt, cheese and kefir are great sources of probiotic bacteria. Other sources include miso, fermented soybeans, granola bars and dried cereals.
