A new 3-dimensional printer developed by scientists creates real, cuddly teddy bears in a few hours. Researchers at Carnegie Mellon and Disney Research have developed the machine which uses soft yarn and a needle to "felt" the object together by entangling the fibers as the object is built, Techcrunch reported.
Scott E. Hudson of CMU's Human-Computer Interaction Institute revealed that the printer can make almost any shape out of almost any fibrous material and it uses standard, open source printer software to prepare and print the objects.
