Pressure to Look Good Coupled With Academic Stress Causes Young Girls to Consume Alcohol
A new study by the Girl Guides has pointed out that academic stress coupled with the pressure to look attractive cause many young girls to take to alcohol and cigarettes.
More than half of girls think that young women are turning to drink to relieve their worries, while 81 per cent believe that alcohol abuse is a serious issue, reports the Telegraph.

The pressure to look attractive is the most negative thing about being female, according to 47 per cent of those polled in the annual Girls' Attitudes Survey, commissioned by Girlguiding UK.

More than 1,200 girls between the ages of seven and 21 took part in the survey, which was not restricted to Girlguiding members.
