Popularity of Morning-after Pill on the Rise Among Women
The results of a survey conducted among females between the ages of 15 to 44 suggest that nearly one out of 9 younger women have resorted to the morning after pill after sex.
This rise in popularity is because of the easy availability of the pill and media publicity regarding the benefits of the pill.

Nearly 50% of the women who used the pills had unprotected sex. The rest who had used some form of birth control were not too confident about its protection from unwanted pregnancy.

The morning-after pill is a stronger version of birth control pills and is not the same as the abortion pill. It prevents ovulation and it needs to be consumed within a few days after sex.

The cost of the morning-after pill is about $35 to $60 a dose at a pharmacy and the price is dependent on the brand. Nearly five versions of the morning-after pills are marketed in the United States.
