Polio Booths Established in J&K: Aim to Eradicate Polio

The date is fixed for January 18th and infants up to the age of 05 years in the Kupwara district totaling to more than 1.3 lakh would be given Polio vaccine. The Deputy Commissioner of the Kupwara district announced declared the information. He was reviewing arrangements made for the Pulse Polio Immunization in the district.

Immunization booths totaling to about 725 with 1259 Health Workers, 81 NGO's, 737 Anganwari Workers and 161 supervisors have been put to the job. The advanced wealth teams are being sent across to Keran, Machil, Budnambal, Jumagunas and the border areas. The camp would be conducted up to January 20. Staff are being trained for the purpose and deployed.

"The necessary training to the staff has been already imparted at various places in the district in this regard," an official statement said.
