PM Modi Calls for Greater Awareness in Ayurveda
There is a need for greater awareness in the field of Ayurveda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on Sunday, adding that the traditional medicine system is a way of life.
"There is a need for larger awareness in Ayurveda; it can't be limited to doctors only. Our ancestors made good health a part of life but we have started outsourcing the entire health sector. Any teacher, doctor, manufacturers, or researchers of Ayurveda need to think of ways to create better herbal medicines," Prime Minister Modi said, while speaking at the sixth World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Exposition organised in the national capital.

"However a bigger issue is that there are many such medicines in Ayurveda, whose contents are difficult to find today," he added.

The Prime Minister further said that the world would also accept Ayurveda if it had accepted yoga as a way of life.

"Ayurveda is a way of life and if the world can accept yoga, it will also accept Ayurveda. I will make my best efforts for this filed to progress. I request everyone to accept Ayurveda to bring a good change," he said.

Earlier this year, Prime Minister Modi had launched the National AYUSH Mission, which looks to promote Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy (AYUSH) medicine systems to support the efforts of state governments for providing health services and education across the country.
