A Lancashire therapist has claimed that playing two hours of videogame produces a similar effect as inhaling a line of cocaine

“A lot of young people get themselves into a situation where they use video games as an escape from the world and they get hooked on the release of adrenaline it gives. Spending two hours on a game station is equivalent to taking a line of cocaine in the high it produces”, he wrote in a report published in the Lancashire Evening Post.
However experts are not sure over the issue of addiction of games. Keith Bakker, who is the head of Amsterdam’s gaming addiction clinic, The Smith and Jones Centre, said that even the most compulsive game is not addicted to videogames, adding that in almost all cases it should be seen as a social problem.
