Playful Nature More Likely to Attract Potential Partners
A new study conducted by a team of American researchers has revealed that people who have a playful nature are more likely to attract potential mates.
Researchers led by Professor Garry Chick, head of the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management at Penn State asked 250 undergraduate students what they are looking in potential partners and found “sense of humor”, “playful” and “fun loving” as the most important characteristics.

Professor Chick said that playfulness could be the reason for many people to play throughout their lives as it displayed desirable qualities to attract mates. “Humans and other animals exhibit a variety of signals as to their value as mates. Just as birds display bright plumage or colouration, men may attract women by showing off expensive cars or clothing. In the same vein, playfulness in a male may signal to females that he is nonaggressive and less likely to harm them or their offspring. A woman's playfulness, on the other hand, may signal her youth and fertility”, he said.
