Physiotherapists in Jammu Demand Government Jobs
Physiotherapists in Jammu staged a protest, raising demands for government jobs in health departments.
The agitated lot demonstrated outside old Divisional Commissioner's office by beating utensils and bells and also raised slogans against the government.

"We have demands for the physiotherapists, the unemployed physiotherapists. We want an assurance from the government to employ us and that is our first demand. Second demand is to constitute a council in our state as there exits none," said Sandeep, a physiotherapist.

"Third demand is that in government medical college two batches were started but why were these courses ceased later on. Our demand is to reopen those batches once again, this is our third demand," he added.

He further said they have been silently protesting but there was no reaction from the concerned authorities.

Over 50 physiotherapists have been silently protesting for the past 27 days and they also said that their demands are genuine and the general public ought to know their plight.

The physiotherapists complained that the government is not paying enough attention to this sector and warned that they would not sit silently till the government concedes to their demands. By Tahir Nadeem Khan
