People Born in Spring Have High Risk of Anorexia
A new research has indicated that spring babies have a higher incidence of anorexia nervosa than those born in other months.
The researchers arrived at this conclusion after assessing the results of four studies that also involved 1,293 people with anorexia. The researchers reported that there were an excess of anorexia births in the spring months.

"A number of previous studies have found that mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression are more common among those born in the spring - so this finding in anorexia is perhaps not surprising,” said researcher Dr Lahiru Handunnetthi at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics.

The details of the study are published in the British Journal of Psychiatry.
