Pentavalent Vaccine Included In Routine Immunization For Children In Nagaland
Pentavalent vaccine has been included into the routine immunization schedule for children in Nagaland, as part of the government’s immunization program available for every infant free of cost.
Launching the Pentavalent vaccine at a function here at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P Longon said that pentavalent vaccine will now be a part of the government immunization programme available for every infant free of cost.

"Let us ensure that no child is denied any vaccine and let's work towards providing a healthy future for our children," he said.

He said the Pentavalent vaccine containing five vaccines is truly a benefit to children because it reduces the number of injection pricks a child receives from 6 pricks to 3 pricks with the benefit of an additional vaccine that protects the child against pneumonia and meningitis caused due to Haemophilus influenza type B.

The minister urged the health workers to ensure that every eligible child receives the benefit of this new vaccine.
