Peer Pressure and Sexualised Media Culture Encourages Teens to Indulge in Sexting
Peer pressure or the need to do what the peers are doing just to be part of the group and be called 'happening', encourages teens to indulge in 'sexting'.
Sexting essentially involves sending sexually explicit images or messages over the mobile phone.

Apart from peer pressure, teens are also deeply influenced by the so-called sexualised media culture in the present day.

The perception among young males is that if young men did not resort to sexting, it was like a blow to their masculinity.

The extent of how normalized this behavior has become can be gauged by the new sexting application available for free and can be downloaded on smartphones.
