Parking Tickets With Yoga Instructions to Calm Recipients in US
Parking tickets that have yoga instructions on them in a bid to calm down angry or irritated recipients are being handed out in an US city.
Around 40,000 of the placatory citations, created by Daniel Peltz, an "artist in residence" with the Cambridge Traffic and Parking Department, have been handed out to parking control officers in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Ticket envelopes have an image of a yoga position on the front, with instructions on the reverse on how to implement various moves.

According to the Boston Herald, Susan Clippinger, the city's transportation chief, said the purpose of the tickets is to debunk the idea that all parking tickets are a hostile action.

"We're not writing tickets to get somebody. We're writing tickets to help make the city function," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

But the move has not been met with favour, with those receiving the tickets saying that it's a waste of an envelope, as having to dole out money is not something enjoyable.

"During his residency, Peltz learned that the aim of the Department of Traffic, Parking and Transportation was to maintain flow in the city, which led him to imagine a more peaceful exchange between Parking Control Officers and drivers being ticketed," the Cambridge Arts Council, which is behind the move, said on its website.
