A new technology has been developed that helps women on “the pill” to follow the everyday regimen and reminds when a user is at risk of missing her dose. The Oviary is an electronic box loaded with pills and paired with a smartphone and an app.
When the device is opened, it communicates with the app to record that day’s successful administration.
But when the Oviary is ignored, it sends a reminder to take the pill. The device connects to a home WiFi and the user’s phone number is recorded during setup.
The device has a display on the top of the box with simple to read lights that indicates the time left to take the pill for that day.
The device has its own built-in alarm function set to a 24 hour cycle. It immediately provides visual information for how a user is doing.
When the timing of the pill needs to be taken is about to expire, the Oviary sends a reminder message, followed by another after the expiration time if the pill is still ignored.
