Overweight People Think They are Slimmer Than They Actually Are!
Overweight women and children often think that they are slimmer than they actually are, a new study conducted by researchers from the Columbia University Medical Center reveals.
Around 111 women and 111 children took part in the study, with 66 percent of the women and 39 percent of the children being overweight.

The researchers then showed various images of body silhouettes with differing range of weights and found that more than 80 percent of obese women and 86 percent of overweight kids underestimated their weights.

“The implication of this is the overwhelming impact of obesity on children who are growing up in communities where obesity and overweight is the norm rather than the exception. Strategies to overcome the obesity epidemic will need to address this barrier to weight loss”, lead researcher Dr Nicole Dumas said.
