 Ovary Transplants can Stop Menopause

Ovary transplants can help halt menopause and preserve fertility, say doctors.

Doctors have found ovary transplants can remain effective for at least seven years.

Three women, who have already received transplants, have given birth to seven children, with one expecting another baby soon, the Independent reported.

Women may choose to have ovarian tissue stored so they can have it transplanted later.

Gedis Grudzinskas, a consultant gynaecologist in Harley Street, said this offered "insurance for fertility purposes".

The findings will be published in Reproductive Biomedicine Online.
