One Out of 10 Women Experience Depression During Pregnancy
Researchers from University of Carolina found that women who have suffered eating disorders carry a greater risk of depression during pregnancy. Such women need to receive counseling as part of their prenatal care.
Though researchers are yet unclear about what causes depression, they know for sure that it can have adverse effects on the baby.

Such children can go on to suffer anxiety and depression late in their lives. It can also affect the bonding between mother and child with an increased risk of developmental delays in children as mothers may not be able to interact with their babies.

It is important to treat mothers with depression as children of such mothers can go on to suffering mental health problems themselves.
