Ohio Will Cover Autism Treatment Under Insurance Plans
Governor John Kasich gave approval to plans for insurance companies to cover autism treatments, according to The Plain Dealer.
He made an announcement on 21st December and the coverage will commence from 2014, which will cover treatments like Applied Behavior Analysis, along with occupational therapy and Psychiatric care. It will cost thousands of dollars yearly.

It will apply to state healthcare programs, private insurance sold in the state, and the federally mandated insurance exchange known as “Obamacare.”

Gov. Kaschik – director of health transformation – Greg Moody said, “We know that with early intervention, kids with autism do better at school, they find employment and become more independent and connected adults in our communities.”

Parents of autistic children find it next to impossible to pay for treatment which is not covered by insurance. This move is welcomed by them and what they had been rooting for all along.
