 Obese Kids Hoodwink Researchers

In a first of its kind incident, obese kids hoodwinked researchers in a study by hooking up their pedometers to their pets' collars.

The study in question is being conducted by the Mile End Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine. Some 200 kids were recruited for the study and were given pedometers to keep a record of their physical activity levels.

The researchers were surprised to find that overweight kids were recording higher levels of physical activity as compared to their normal weight counterparts.

"Then we realized they were attaching the pedometers to their dogs' collars." said study author Professor Nicola Maffulli. "After a week we found there were some kids who were extremely active but still obese."

However they still managed to find out that boys were about 2500 steps short of 15,000 steps recommended for them, while girls were around 2,000 steps short of the 12,000 recommended during the study.
