Obama’s Climate Change Policy Under the Scanner
US President Barack Obama’s climate change policies are under scanner with the administration having to defend them in the US Supreme Court which is considering whether the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) has misused its authority in regulating greenhouse gas emissions.
The landmark case comes following claims by Republican led states and industry groups that the agency’s authority amounts to an overreach of federal power and its ability to impose permit requirements on power plants and factories could ultimately affect millions of facilities, including bakeries and apartment complexes.

Stating that the requirements are placing a huge burden on small businesses, Richard Faulk, a lawyer who filed a brief on behalf of 75 local business groups, said, “These requirements are threatening to impose huge burdens on America’s small businesses. It’s a cloud that is hanging over them and their plans for expansion.”
