Nurses’ Survey Finds Workplace Bullying is Common
A survey of over 2,000 nurses by New Zealand Nurses' Organization researchers Dr Jill Clendon and Dr Leonie Walker has revealed that workplace bullying is very common.
Some 23% of the contacted nurses responded to the survey and said bullying and harassment were features of 38.2 percent of workplaces and that there were insufficient nurses to deliver quality care.

Around 16% said bullying was a major problem at their workplace.

Additionally, one in 10 said they were considering leaving their workplace next year. Dr Clendon said developing family-friendly workplace policies was important to encourage young nurses to work efficiently.
