Nursery Worker Jailed Indefinitely In Child Abuse Case

A UK nursery worker and a mother of two, Ms. Vanessa George, has been jailed indefinitely in a child abuse case. Her arrest, back in June, sent shockwaves across the country.

Mrs. Vanessa George was arrested after indecent images of children taken at Little Ted’s Day Nursery in Plymouth were found on a computer disc seized by police from a suspected paedophile in Manchester.

As many as seven charges were brought up against Ms. George, perhaps the most scorned woman now in the country. The offences include sexual assault by penetration and by touching. One of the victims was a one-year-old girl. Another was an infant boy. Two infant girls were alleged to have been subjected to further assaults.

A most disgusting child porn ring was born on the Facebook when Ms. George linked up with Ms. Angela Allen, a single mother and Colin Blanchard, an IT salesman.

The 39-year-old woman who worked at Little Ted's Day Care Unit admitted feeding the lust of Blanchard with sick pictures of children in her care. She had not spared even her own daughter, Pearl George, from the humiliation. She had snapped her as she darted out of the shower in search of a towel in May last year and promptly forwarded the picture to her lover.

George, who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing children and babies in her care, even captioned the picture of her naked daughter with what police say were ‘disgusting comments of a sexual nature.’

George put her hand to her eyes as the facts of the case were read out in court, apparently shielding herself from the gaze of parents and her own husband.

Mr Justice John Royce described the evidence as "chilling" as he heard how George and Blanchard discussed practices like rape via text.

The nursery worker was obsessed with Colin Blanchard, telling him she was his "paedo whore mum" and sending him eight pictures a week, Bristol Crown Court heard. In one message, George referred to herself and Blanchard as the "perfect paedo couple".

Pearl George, now 15, told The News of the World of her disgust at what her mother had done: ‘I want people to know why I really hate and despise her so much.

‘A mother is supposed to be there for her daughter, isn’t she? Not betray her.

‘What she inflicted on those unfortunate babies and toddlers at the nursery was wicked, but to then discover she had no conscience about exploiting me, her own flesh and blood, was awful.’

Pearl had no idea about her mother’s double life until she was arrested and charged with abusing children at the Plymouth nursery.

She only learned about the existence of the sick photo of herself after police told her father, Andrew.

He said: ‘Our hearts go out to the families of the children Vanessa abused, but I hope people will also realise that we are also victims, especially after the way she humiliated and took advantage of our daughter.

Vanessa George was handed an indeterminate sentence for reasons of public protection and told she will have to serve at least seven years.

Mr Justice Royce said: 'This case has cause widespread revulsion and incredulity. It has rocked the city of Plymouth but the shockwaves extend much further, perhaps to every nursery school in the country.'

Turning to George, he said: 'You gave parents who entrusted their children to your care every reason to believe they would be safe. How grossly did you abuse their trust. What you did plumbed new depths of depravity.'

Her accomplice, Angela Allen, 39, a former sex worker, was also given an indeterminate sentence and told she will be in jail for at least five years.

There were cries of 'yes' from parents in the public gallery, where George's husband Andrew was also sitting, when the judge said they faced 'the rest of their days behind bars' unless they changed their ways.

As the 18-stone Vanessa George was led out of court, two women jumped from their seats in the public gallery and hurled abuse at her.

Her husband had sat quietly alongside other parents during the hearing, occasionally putting his head in his hands and glancing at his wife in the dock.
