Number of Kids Wearing Nappies to Schools on the Rise

Teachers have said that the number of children starting school wearing nappies has risen dramatically over the recent years.

They said that some parents "wait until the child is ready", while many of the others are too busy to potty train the kids.  Education workers' union Voice, which is working on guidelines to toilet train kids said, "There are fewer school nurses now so school staff have to take the responsibility."

Family group Parents Outloud said: "If we insist that mothers go out to work when their children are still young, things are going to give."

In fact some schools may refuse to take in kids who are not potty trained, but councils said such schools would be violating the Disability Discrimination Act.
