Now, a Fake Penis That Deceives Drug Testers

Experts who conduct drug tests in athletes in Britain have been warned against the use of artificial genitals that can be misused to discharge clean urine samples.

The Original Whizzinator - a fake penis that comes complete with drug-free urine, and a heater pack to ensure it appears at body temperature - has been manufactured in the United States, and is available in a variety of skin tones.

Available on the Internet, the device has been designed to beat the testers, where it comes to catching any athlete or industrial worker.

"There have been cases in other countries where sportsmen have tried to manipulate the sample provision," the Telegraph quoted Russell Langley of UK Sport, the agency that handles drug testing in this country, as saying.

Some, however, believe that it will be really very difficult for a person to use a false penis to deceive drug testers.

"I've never heard of anything like this. In any case, drug testers tend to stand right in front of you when you are peeing," says Jason Gardener, the retired Olympic relay gold medallist.

"Others insist on your trousers and underwear being around your ankles so that they can see everything. If you are being tested at the track, then a drug tester will accompany you as soon as your race has finished," he adds.

Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency is planning to include Viagra on its list of banned substances, as the product has been detected in athletes' urine samples many times.

The drug, more normally associated with helping to cure sexual problems, is thought to have extra benefits for both sprinters and marathon runners.
