NHS to Compensate Women Who Conceived Even While Using Implanon

The NHS has revealed that it will be compensating women who got pregnant in spite of using the popular contraceptive device offered by the health service.

The Implanon implant promoted by the NHS quickly became popular among women after it claimed to prevent pregnancy for three years by releasing hormones into the bloodstream which prevented the fertilization of the egg.

An investigation conducted by Channel 4 revealed that 14 women lodged complaints with their local health trust and the NHS paid out more than 200,000 in compensation.
