With water births increasingly becoming popular among women who want to avoid the pain associated with labor, researchers at Loughborough University in Britain have developed a new adjustable mirror that can be used by midwives under water at the time of delivery during water births. One of the major problems associated with a water birth is the need of the midwife to place a mirror under the mother to see whether the baby has started to crown and also shine a torch from the top in order to see clearly.
Now this might be a thing of the past thanks to Loughborough University with their mirror helping midwives to perform the process in a more comfortable condition while the mothers can also give birth in a more dignified manner.
