New Game Uses Brainwaves to Move a Ball

American games giant Mattel have introduced a game which uses brainwaves to negotiate a ball around an obstacle course.

In the groundbreaking game, competitors wear a hi-tech headset.

The game has sensors to measure brain activity, reports The Telegraph.

In the Mindflex game, which was launched at the Gadget Show in Birmingham's NEC on Wednesday, the player's level of mental activity determines the strength of a fan used to levitate a foam ball through the air and manoeuvre it around the board.

A Mattel spokeswoman said: "Players' brainwaves are effectively used to power the fan which controls the ball.

"The more a person concentrates the stronger the air flow and similarly the more someone relaxes the less the fan will blow.

"The game demands incredible mental strength and control."
